The shifts in the hospital at home template
A day physician, a night physician, an APP, three visit nurses and a night nurse.
- Day and night physicians work blocks of 7 days on and 7 off.
- Three visit nurses and an APP see patients at home during the day.
- A night nurse works 19:00 to 07:00.

Set it up in Capillary

Create the department
Name it, then set its time zone and minimum rest. When clocks spring forward, back-to-back 12-hour shifts leave 11 hours of rest, so a 12-hour minimum blocks that save.

In Build schedule, pick Hospital at home under Start from a department template. It fills an empty month with these 7 shifts a day, ready to assign.

Add your staff
Add physicians, APPs and nurses one at a time, or import them from a CSV file.

Assign the shifts
Give each physician shift to one person for the week. Saving stops at any overlap or short rest and names the shift.

Publish
Everyone sees the published month, and each person can add their shifts to a phone calendar.
Every save is checked
Saving stops at the first assignment that breaks a rule and names the shift and the rule. Capillary checks role, overlapping shifts, the department’s minimum rest, approved time off and each person’s published shifts at their other sites in Capillary.

- Paramedics. They are not yet a staff group on the schedule.
